Can Wavelab7 handle split stereo files?

I noticed I can drag split stereo files into the audio editor if I grab them both at the same time. Both filenames appear in the tab and processing them works as expected. However, if I want to batch process these files, they will not be treated as a stereo pair. Can I accomplish this without interleaving them first?

Or, can I batch interleave them? That would be the next best option.

Thanks,

I don’t remember for WaveLab 7. For the current WaveLab, there is an option to allow dual mono files to be treated as a stereo file in the batch processor. Check if this option was already there for WaveLab 7.

Hi!

check manual…

There is no option in WL7 Batch to create Stereo files from Dual Mono. If you want this feature, you can use WL12 Trial.

As you can see from image below in WL12 Batch, there is option to allow dual mono.

If you want to open dual mono files as separate files in the audio editor, you can disable this option using Ctrl+P.

However, you can batch Stereo Files as Dual Mono files in WL7.

If you are seeking a work around in WL7, you can load all the left channels and right channels to separate mono tracks in a stereo montage, use loop markers, change channel routing of two channels and render as regions (loops).

Or enable Allow Opening of Dual Mono open files in pairs to the Audio Editor and save every file pair as a stereo file.

EDIT I recall having an external batch processor to do this (interleave to stereo) for WL 7

@Marker

Thanks all for your input! What I’ll do is render the files in ProTools (where they live right now) as interleaved files, then batch process that instead. It’s just one more detour and no big deal.

@Marker: what you described is again genius, but too many steps I think. Easier to throw normal interleaved files at WL7 in the first place.

Thanks,
