Hi all !
Almost 10 years ago, I upgraded my cubse 7 to cubase 8.5, and a few days ago (going back to making music again) I purchased the upgrade to Cubase 14.
I obtained the download code, and the Activation code as well.
Yesterday I got an email saying the license is not activated, so I went into my “e-Licenser” app and tried activating with the activation code I was given to Cubase 14 (which again, I just paid for), BUT to my surprise it seems like it is looking for my (long long long ago LOST) e-Licenser PHYSICAL KEY (???).
What should I do now?
I paid so much money and now I can’t use the software?!
Hi ! Thank you for the answer and the link.
If I had bought the “Full version” -I had to use my old e-licenser as well? or buy a new one?
If not - is it possible to get a refund for the upgrade and just buy the full version which will be activated without an e-licenser ?
If you buy a full release you do not need a previous release, but you will pay a higher price than for the update.
As @Martin.Jirsak wrote you can simply buy a new dongle reactivate your old license and then you will get all releases from Cubase 11 and older (using the dongle), as well as Cubase 12 and later (using Steinberg Licensing).
If you do not want to go that way you should follow the link from @Grim
With the USB-eLicenser, you cannot reactivate. This is possible with Soft-eLicenser only. You have to follow the steps in the article to receive the replacement Activation Code(s).
You will get Cubase Pro 11 (Update to the licensing system) license once you update your old (eLicenser based) license to the current Cubase Pro 14. With this license, you can start Cubase Pro 11 and older.
You don’t get Cubase Pro 12 license. You will get only Cubase Pro 14 license. But with this one, you can start older Cubase versions (Cubase 14, 13 and 12, which are based on the new licensing system).
