Hi I try to crossfade several small bits of flute but Cubase 15 refuses. I played a, say, 5 seconds note, then I copied it, and placed several of those copies after each others. Then I wish to crossfade those bits in order to produce a longer sample. But I can’t. I use the Range Selection (2) tool and then type X. Nothing happens.
You have a mix of events and parts by the look of it…I think the highlighted and the last item are parts. If you select only the events and not those last 2 items does it work?
(1) I cut the main sample and copy the selected clip
(2) I paste 3 copies of the selected clip
(3) I make the clips overlap, i use the Range Selection Tool to create the crossfade area. I press X .
Looks like it works now. I guess I just have to glue the three parts together now..?
I still don’t understand wht you mean by events and parts. Where is it in the help?
Event is the clip you have on the timeline…in your working example they are all events. If you select an event you can see and edit directly it’s waveform in the lower zone editor.
Parts are containers for events, you can have multiple events grouped into one part to move them around together for example. If you select the part then you will not see a waveform but will see the clips that the part contains in the editor…like in your first screencap.
