I need to add a “square bracket” barré sign in my guitar score but I can’t figure out how. The only thing I’ve seen that looks like what I want is the non arpeggio sign.
Select the lines panel and choose the vertical lines and click the little pencil.
Select a line you don’t use or add a new one (+).
Select ‘solid vertical line’ with right=pointing hook and set this as the start cap with ‘None’ for the end cap.
This glyph will then appear in your selection of lines. Select your chord. click on the created line and then adjust if need in the properties panel at the bottom of the window.
Hope this helps.
Then use it! (It’s far simpler than trying to position the vertical line option) - shift-O nonarp
Ah, yes! That’s the thing I was looking for, it just didn’t occur to me to click on the arrow.
Edited: I have actually been there yesterday but I didn’t scroll down. I only saw the upper part which contains horisontal lines and the upper part of the vertical lines which contains only dashed ones. ![]()
I think there will be an issue if I want to assign an arp to that group of notes if there’s a non arp assigned as well?
I didn’t actually find it difficult to use Andy’s suggestion. I didn’t even had to create a new sign since the one I was looking for was already in the list. I just selected the notes and clicked the bracket.
