Maybe I’ve overlooked something obvious but … Downloaded the C14 trial but in a moment of weakness and excitement, instead of fetching the temporary trial licence, I went ahead and paid for a new £83 C14 licence. Activated C14. All looked good in my account. Loaded up and played with the new drum machine, pattern editor etc. Tried the modulators and all good.
Next went looking in the FX dropdown on a Halion track SEND /INSERT and couldn’t see the new shimmer or new delay or volume, or underwater thingy etc. Looked in MEDIA side window but not in VST FX list either
(the usual C13 FX were present, compressors, vocal chain etc were listed).
Where do I find the new C14 FX? Thanks for any help.
The new Shimmer is under Steinberg—>Reverb.
Are you using custom “Plugin collections” by any chance? If that’s the case you should go on the VST Manager and drag it manually from the list on the left side to the folder of your choosing in the right side.
Just a guess, the only thing I can think of as the plug-in is automatically installed.
Ha! Spot on! I had forgotten I’d created a limited list of 11 effects used in GA5. I can’t remember doing it, or why I did it, mind you
So yes the full list of effects are in VST Plug-in Manager, including Shimmer.
Thanks all!
Spot on too.
I’d forgotten how you use Cubase …I’ve not used it creatively for a while.
C13 had dampened my ardour, mainly because I struggled with the complexity of GA5. So tedious looking through the millions of GA5 options just to lay down a simple groove for my guitar playing. By the time I found something suitable I’d lost the creativity on the guitar!
New Drum machine /pattern editor in C14 is just what I needed. Now creativity is back!
