Can't get Dorico SE going

I’m trying to set up Dorico 5 SE for one of my kids. I have a code, but SAM won’t launch and neither will Dorico. When I try to launch Steinberg Download Assistant, it just gives me a spinning wheel with blue dots. Then it says “Failed to update Steinberg Download Assistant.”

Neither Dorico nor SAM are running in the background. There’s nothing to force-quit.

I downloaded everything from direct link, not SDA, but I can’t figure out where to go from here. Nothing’s working.

I know that’s not much info, but I’m not sure what to add. Help appreciated.

Ok, I got it to work by un-installing SAM and reinstalling. Running the update didn’t work, but this worked.
