New to VST Live…
I imported a Cubase project into VST Live 3.0.59. I added a lyric track.
Using VST LIVE MODS on my iPhone to display chords and lyrics, the text is way too close (I see some other threads about being able to space this out..)
I made some edits in VST Live 3 on my Mac, but I can’t for the life of me figure out what it takes to make those edits to turn up in VST LIVE MODS on my iPhone - it is not getting any of the updated edits I make…
What am I missing?

Also, I connected my iPad… neither chords nor lyrics will display at all, but the metronome and play/stop is clearly working.
I just crosschecked here. This should be working and you should see lyric changes immediately on your mobile devices.
Could you please try the following:
- create a new project
- just add a lyrics track
- type in some lyrics
- connect your iOS/iPadOs devices
At this point you should see the lyrics on your iPhone and iPad. Also check the little icon at the lower left of the screen labeled „Peers". You should see the number of connected devices here.
As a quick reminder: Telling us what devices you are actually using (Mac Mini M5, iPhone 11,12,16 e.g.) and what OS they are running can also help us pinpointing the problem.

Sorry, I assumed my signature footer would have been included with my setup details.
Desktop is a MacbookPro M3 MacOS 26.6.2,
Device 1 is an iPhone 15 Plus iOS 26.6.1,
Device 2 is an iPad7 iPadOS 18.7.10
So yes, both devices are connected and the “Peers” indicator shows 2.
I created a new project and added just Lyrics and Chords, and both show up on both devices. I was able to edit the Lyric track and the changes show up immediately on both devices.
So my problem seems to be adding lyrics to a project with a song imported from Cubase16. I’ll do some more testing to isolate the issue and report back to you.
Okay, lots of frustrating testing… but I’ve isolated the issue:
I create marker tracks in my Cubase projects, and I included them in the export and import into VST Live.
IF the marker track is present in the Song, the Markers will display on VST LIVE MODS (both iPad and iPhone) but not the Lyrics.
I tried deselecting their output target in the Tracks inspector - that did not help.
The solution is to delete the Markers Track all together. Only then, the Lyrics will show on the mobile devices.
Well I take that back… I am still running into problems with Lyrics…
Are the Lyrics saved in the song/marker subfolder? Are they contained in the .mprjmarker file?
Only some Lyrics show up on my mobile device - just the lyrics initially created, not the additional Lyrics I entered this morning.
I’ve tried the following:
Save the song as a new song file in a new folder. Copy all media.
Delete ALL projects (now an empty subfolder)
Create a NEW project,
Import the problematic song, selecting to copy all media files,
Confirm the song on my MacBookPro displays the complete set of lyrics.
Confirm the Lyrics are set to the lyric visualizer, chords to chord visualizer,
Check on both mobile devices, only the first 10 lines that I entered yesterday and saved in the song are displayed. All chords and tempo/metronome data is perfect.
I then imported the first song I created… It has a marker track, and I have zero issues with this song. All markers, chords, tempo, lyrics work fine on all devices. Very confusing.
It’s almost as if I need to find a way force the mobile app to refresh/re-read the updated lyric data from my macbookpro…
Any ideas? (I’m thinking of trashing all the marker files and trying to recreate the lyrics in one setting to see if that makes a difference…)

Hey Kai,
So I copied two song folders over, and installed the latest VST Live 3.0.60 on my main studio machine (it’s an intel i7 hackintosh).
VST Live crashed 4 times trying to get through the plugin scanner..! (Same machine I test and run Cubase 16, Nuendo 13, SpectraLayers 13, Wavelab 13, none of which crash on scan).
Finally I got it up and running. I created a new project, imported those two songs, and viola! Everything is working as it should from that machine.
(it’s running MacOS 15.7.7 whereas my MacBookPro is on MacOS 26.6.2)
So next step is to try editing some lyrics on the studio machine and see if it’s happy syncing and updating.
I’ll also try a hard reboot of my MacBookPro. Maybe some background system process is gunking the system up.

Okay, some good news at last…
Moving the songs to my main DAW proved that the songs and lyrics were being created correctly by VST Live on my MBPro.
I restarted my MacBookPro this morning and, using the same song files, created a new project, imported those files, and now everything is syncing correctly.
Conclusion - something running in the background on my mac was interfering with refreshing the lyrics to one or both mobile devices. Fixed with a restart.
I don’t run games, Adobe apps, Microsoft apps, Google apps on either of these machines. Background apps and utilities are typically just audio related tools like Native Instruments Access, SoundID, UA utility, RME drivers, and Dropbox. Might be hard to track what process was causing this, but next time I’ll take a look at Console and Activity Monitor and look for anything suspicious.
