Can't get playback to match my percussion map

I have just about finished my custom percussion kit and map for drum kit transcription, with all 43 playing technique sounds programmed, bound, and notating correctly. However, 2 of the sounds do not match when played back.

-I am using Dorico 6 Elements and Kontakt for playback

-Both of these samples play the correct audio and notate correctly from my midi keyboard, and they both play the wrong audio but still notate correctly from the built in Dorico Drum Pad

The first,is supposed to be a bell sound for a crash technique alternative:

  • I have the crash sound set to C#7 and the bell set to E8, but no matter what I do playback is just playing C#7 for them both. My lower crash with the same setup is working just fine
  • I have tried many many technique combinations, as well as binding the bell lower on the keyboard

How it’s notating (this part is working)

My Playing techniques:

Percussion map (marked with green), marked with blue is the lower crash and bell sound that is working just fine

The second is the Green splash, It plays the note bound to the yellow splash (C#6) no matter what I do. The blue splash is playing back correctly

The three splashes all have this technique layout with splash 1,2, and 3 techniques respectively:

The map contents

I am just ignoring it for now because this only affects playback. Although I would really like to master my understanding of percussion maps.

Welcome to teh forum, @drumalldayy .

Unless I missed it, you never say what sound set you are using in your Kontakt VST; I expect that would make a difference.

Thank you!

I did not specify, apologies. My loaded libraries are ‘Drum Kit’ by Blueprint, ‘Krimh Drums (free)’ by Bogren Digital, and ‘Deviant Drums free’ by Chaos Tones. Most of the samples are unbound with the exception of Blueprint which does not allow custom midi mapping.

The midi mappings are all working great though. In fact when using the midi keyboard to write in Dorico the correct sound is played and the correct note position and notehead are notated. It’s only in playback, clicking on the note, or using the drumpad that the wrong sample is called.

On paper I feel like this should be working, so it has me quite baffled.
