Can't import a video file into Cubase 7?

Hi,

I’ve recently bought a new windows computer, I’ve transferred everything across and all working well but when i try to import a 18 minute film (MP4 file, 2.01 GB) it says ‘Invalid or not supported file’. Also tried it with a Mov file but still no luck. The film plays fine outside of Cubase though

But when I go to my old Mac the file is imported fine.

Not sure what to do, Is there settings in Cubase that need to be changed? Also, my Cubase is in 64bit.

Thanks,

Ben

Could be that your new computer has Windows 10 for the OS? I believe CB7 used the quicktime software for video services and I don’t think Win 10 has quicktime. You may have to upgrade your CB or, if available/allowed, download a version of quicktime to your computer.

Of course, all this is a guess because you did not list your system specs.

Hi,

Thought I’d mention that updating Cubase to 7.07 solved the problem.

Thanks,
