Can't install on my Mac!

I bought Dorico Pro 5 and am trying to install on my Mac laptop running Sonoma 14.5.1 and 32 gb ram, plenty of storage space on the hard drive.
Installer freezes and I can’t get any further. any ideas?

So you are using the Steinberg Download Assistance for downloading and installing, right? You could also try with a direct download of Dorico via the Steinberg web site on this page.

got it. now I can’t get playback to work. I’ve downloaded the Halion Sonic 7 content for Dorico 5 pro, but I haven’t found a way to link it to the program.

Make sure you’ve downloaded HALion Sonic 7 itself as well as the content. HALion Sonic is a VST instrument that loads sound samples, so you need both the VST and the sampled content.

I downloaded the Halion Sonic 7, but don’t see a way to “link” it to the Dorico.

Dorico finds it, if it is there.

Create a new project from one of the in-built templates. Add a few notes and see if it plays back.
