Trying to upgrade from 10.5 to 11, but no luck…connection to server cannot be established. Anyone else have same issue ?
You have to go to your Stein online profile and add the code to your account and it’ll will give you a new code that you use to activate it through the elicenser – at that stage your activation won’t work or will lock you out and give you a “transfer pending” on your old software. Fun fun. Good luck though. Maybe wait until everyone says it’s up and working again before trying to activate though, avoid the headache of locked software.
Having the same issue as everyone here, bought 11 now licence for 10.5 doesn’t work!!! No Cubase functional - Just received this update from the Support team:
Thank you for your Cubase 11 purchase! We are very sorry for the current issues with the license activation process. The servers are up and running, but there are currently just too many activation requests.
If a license activation could not be completed successfully or if the previous license appears to be missing, please be patient and wait until the initial peak of requests has decreased. Then use the ‘Maintenance’ button in the eLicenser Control Center that is installed as a separate application on your system. This should resume interrupted downloads and can recover apparently missing licenses. If the activation code is required in the eLicenser Control Center, please note that you should find it in your MySteinberg account.

i think someone posted already but get the Activation Code form your Receipt you received from email or go to MySteinberg and on the Products page you can have the 28 digit Serial that works in eLicenser
You have to activate it in Download Manager which will in turn generate the 8 x 4 code. You can activate it there too.
I tried a few times and eventually got “transfer pending” … now can’t even try. Can’t wait to hear what hoops we have to jump through to get our software that we paid for to work again.
I figured out our problem. What they sent us in the email was the download access code that they labeled as the activation code. If you go to your Steinberg account page, you will see the actual activation code in the correct format below the download code.
They really botched this release up. Once you enter the proper code, it’s still not going to work due to the aforementioned server issues but the activation code and the download access code got confused somehow in the automated email they send out.
Still getting Transfer pending and can’t do maintenance.

Ok, all but the last step, the sending elicenser information worked for me when doing the maintenance for the elicenser.
Thanks Gento. I was able to log into mysteinberg, enter the download code and receive an activation code.
I will wait to activate CB 11 until the dust settles, as 10.5 is still functioning.
mmmm i tried doing maintenance on the elicenser a minute ago and it still couldn’t connect to the server. Boom Failed on last step as well.

Martin, that’s adding an insult to injury. I’ve been trying 9 hours now. I’m past caring about new features and starting to think of migrating to another DAW. This happened with Cubase 9 already. Steinberg should have fired a bunch of people right then and maybe we wouldn’t be in this situation now. This time, instead of doing anything, all the communication we get is the message essentially saying that there is no problem. Way to botch a launch
