I’m stuck trying to get the very last measure to move to the previous page. Any ideas? I’ve spent a heck of a lot of time in the Engrave section with Frames and Section Breaks. Help.
Welcome to the forum!
If you look closely at this screenshot, there is a system break at the last bar. Select and delete that signpost.
You might as well delete that Bracket and Barline Change too.
I’d remove ALL your system breaks. Select something in the first and last bars and make into frame.
(and what is that Bracket and Barline change doing in the final bar?)
Thanks. Worked it out. It was the System break that was messing things up, but there is not box to click to remove it - just hit delete. (You’d think if there was something to click to create it, there would be something to click to delete it.)
Thanks agian.
That’s what the Signposts are for, as they are for anything that is not visible in the music such as hidden chord symbols/playing techniques/cues with no text…
I’d agree with Janus: for a piece like this, there’s no need to put breaks on every systems. Dorico will layout the music perfectly well.
If the results don’t fill the page, you can make the Note Spacing value (in Layout Options) a little bigger or smaller.
Or you could set Casting Off options for 4 bars per system.
My approach would be not to use any breaks at all. They are only needed in occasional cases in Dorico where the spacing algorithm doesn’t give the right result.
Delete them all, then in Engrave mode insert a Note Spacing Change, and reduce the value on the first line from 4 to something smaller until everything appears on the one page.
Or, if you just have one flow, you can change the value in layout options.
