Latest versions of Halion 7 and Halion Sonic 7 installed (7.1.40).
After creating a user sample VST preset in Halion 7, I can’t open it in Halion Sonic 7. I tried exporting various ways (program, sample layer), but always run into an error message.
Why isn’t this working as it should?
Worked my way through it an found how to do it.
Essentially,
- after creating your samples into a sample instrument
- you have to create an instrument with Macro page within Halion 7
- then go to the program page in the right window
- right click your sampled program
- ->import/export
- → export programs as VST3 preset
- in the window opening now, on the bottom right you have to click “as HS Layers” and “Export files” (to incluide your samples in export)
- then Halion 7 will check the intergrity of your export for use in Halion Sonic (with the option to “fix” minor inconsistencies)
- done.
Now you can import the resulting preset with samples into Halion Sonic.
Hi Jim, I need your help, please: I imported some instruments in GIG format into H7, but I can’t save and open them in HS7.
I tried following your instructions, but I still can’t.
Could you add some screenshots to help me understand better?
Thanks for any help you can give me. Luca
sorry Luca, but it’s been a while since I tried all that, and I do completely different stuff at the moment, so I can’t help you beyond what I wrote back then.
