Can't "Save As Project Template"

Hi all,
I made a bunch of layout changes - ie. adding title page, adding program notes page, etc. I would like to save this document as a Project Template, because this is the layout I use when I send music to my publisher. But when I go to “Save As Project Template”, the dialog box opens, and I can name my new template, but it won’t let me save it. The save button is greyed-out.

Am I doing something wrong?

You need to add both a Category and a Name
(It’s a little unfriendly because it doesn’t offer existing categories, but if you enter (say) Solo in the category you will find your template with all the other factory Solo templates in the Hub)

Hi,

It is not working for me either. Latest Dorico on Mac:

I have added both category and name, but the save button is greyed out…what can I do?

It worked for me using the following steps:

  1. File menu > Save As project Template…
  2. Click in the Category: field (if the cursor is not already in the field) and enter some text
  3. Press Tab to move to the Name: field (or click in the field)
  4. Enter some text

As soon as both categories had text in them, the Save button became activated.

EDIT (after some experimenting):

When I entered text in the Name: field first and then went back to the Category: field and entered some text, the Save button did not activate. When I edited or re-entered the text in the Name: field, the Save button did activate.

I don’t know where the templates are saved on Mac, but perhaps you don’t have rights to that folder?

~/Library/Application\ Support/Steinberg/Dorico\ 6/Project\ Templates/

… and unless something is really out of whack with permissions, it should be owned by the current user.

solved: it wasn’t working in engrave mode, it did in write mode.

Perhaps a bug?
