I’m using Cubase Pro 9.5.3 I’m taking an online view course where the instructor shows that waveforms show in folder view.
Mine however, just shows blocks like this.
Can someone please tell me if there is some sort of preference for this?

In the Preferences > Event Display > Folders, you can set, what should be visible in the folders. The default setup is Always Show Data. The screenshot you sent is using more information of the waveform: Preferences > Event Display >Folders > Show Event Details. Enable this option. When the folder is collapsed, you will see the same, as it is shown in the course.
