I would think you should be able to buy it directly… Note that you do need to also buy a USB eLicenser but you can do that from a local supplier if cheaper and quicker than Steinberg. I see a big “Buy Now” button on the Cubase Artist page (as attachment)…do you not get that?

it just seems weird, it is the same for Cubase Pro…only Elements you can actually buy the full version (downloadable).
I would suspect it’s something to do with the USB licenser then. Can you find that from a third party seller? In the UK it looks like the cost of buying Elements then the Upgrade to Artist costs the same (once you add in the USB eLicenser cost) as Artist in full. You don’t need the eLicenser to run Elements BTW.

Only boxed available since eLicenser is shipped in that package.
A bit odd though, that download versions does not exist since you might own eLicenser before.
