Can’t seem to solve this issue.
When using Expression maps in Cubase 14, usually I select the MIDI note and choose a switch from the Articulations menu in the Info Line, simply because some expression maps can have a lot of articulations to work with and it can bog down the lane view.
The problem: clicking the Articulation menu (in Info Line) has stopped letting me view the available switches and choose one. Despite the Articulations & Dynamics lane listing them and allowing me to draw in the switches.
Strangely, booted up Cubase 13, and now the problem has extended to that too…
Because I experienced issues prior (related to user Profiles causing alt functions to break) I tried trashing prefs, creating different profiles and removing duplicates (as this resolved the other unrelated issue).
Even after this, I’m still having the same problem with the Info Line not showing/letting me choose a switch. Any Ideas? Bit stumped.
Hi,
Could you attach the *.expressionmap file you are using?
Have you tried to rename/remove all Cubase versions preferences folders?
Hi Martin,
I’m using VST3 OPUS (latest build) - I’ve narrowed down the problem, which (I suspect) will require a patch to fix.
-
If you use “Import Key Switches” function in the Project Window of Cubase, the expression map is built correctly and works (from the lane) BUT does not list articulations in the Info Line to select.
-
If you build the expression map manually - works fine, Info line arts are listed and available to use.
Just checked other samplers and they’re working as intended. Granted, most other samplers don’t utilise the “Import Key Switch” function. Any that do, might want to also check for the same issue.
EDIT: yes, also tried rename/remove all versions.
Did you ever solve this? I believe the issue is whether you have an articulation set to Attribute or Direction in the expression map. Since you’re affecting just one note on the info line (or a group of notes you have selected) it will only show articulations that have been set to Attribute.
I’ve pondered setting up a map that has double entries for each articluation, but one is set to Direction and the other to Attribute, so one can use both the Info Line AND the controller lanes. Just too lazy
