Hello, I don’t know if I moved something but now I can’t select the specific staff where I want to start inserting notes. For example, in an orchestral score, I can only activate insert mode on the piccolo but no the instrument below (the flute or others) and when I use the arrow keys to try to move the cursor to the next instrument it jumps several staves below, (example: from piccolo to Euphonium). Why is that?
Thank you for your help.
Have you accidentally turned on Condensing, maybe?
I don’t think so. I haven’t touch that option, I’m sure, I notice it is happening with large scores only. I’m going to do some test and I will report back.
The reason I asked is that not being able to select a staff is one of the effects of Condensing being enabled. To check if Condensing is on, look in the Edit menu.
You were right. That was it. I was using a template that had the condensing enabled. I learned something new.
Thank you for your help.
Note that galley view does not condense, so you can always get to all the individual staves in that view.… Although Dorico works more slowly with Condensing on, so you may want to keep it off until you have all the note entry done.
Oh, that’s very good to know.
Thank you!
