Can't Tell What I Am Printing

When I print (PDFs) for a score and all the parts, before each part prints, Dorico stops and waits for me to type a file name. That would be fine if I were sure which part were printing. Unless I have a table to write down each part as it prints, it is very easy to to get confused which part is active. I don’t want to end up with a PDF called “Oboe” that is actually a clarinet.

It is also tedious to type the name of the piece over and over again for each part (e.g, “Symphony 8 in Em - Horn 1.”

In print mode on the right panel, use Filename options to generate names based on tokens for each layout name.

Dorico will export a PDF for each of the selected layouts, all at once, named based on the tokens you’ve assigned.

Thanks. I must need glasses because I don’t see that.

Ah, you’re printing using a PDF driver – then you’re at the mercy of the driver.

Try selecting Graphics as the destination, then PDF. That uses Dorico’s native export, which gives you more control (including file name tokens).
