Can't use UR-44c Outputs seperately

Hello everyone

I’m destroyed, I spent like 5 hours on this and I just can’t figure it out. I feel stupid.
Okay so,

The end goal is to send a signal (created in my DAW, Logic) to an individual output so I can process that tracks signal through my physical guitar effect pedals and then feed it back into an input.
However whenever I try to plug things in like that it immediately makes this super loud distorted sound indefinitely.

I have a UR44c and use a Macbook Pro 2018 with Logic and the most up to date firmware of steinberg.

I installed dspmixfx and figured out how to turn off the monitoring of each input and just so i can hear it in my DAW, but I really don’t know what I have to do to make it work. Any Ideas? I am very sad.

Steinberg interfaces use a concept of mixes, which are then routed to hardware outputs.

On the UR44C, Mix 1 will go to Main Out and 1L/1R while Mix 2 will go to 2L/2R

So you have to send your signal to Mix 2 in Logic and connect your effects to 2L/2R
