Just cobbled this together in the new version (3.0) that dropped today. A few thoughts:
- I used the “Ottetto” voices (Sops, Alto, Ten, Bass).
- The reverb is the new one now offered in Cantai, turned to full.
- I deliberately chose plainchant to see if Cantai could sing legato; results are mixed. Altos sound particularly “perky,” not really what I would want. (Note: adding slurs to all parts made no difference I could discern).
- I thought Tenors and Basses sounded particularly good. That said, the men’s voices had more issues with singing consonants in the rests.
- The ONLY tweak I had to make was to add “Ah” to the Amen at the end. Otherwise it comes out as “Ay-men” – which, in spite of what some may say, is not appropriate in a plainchant context. I hope there is a way to correct these vowels as needed, at some point.
Hope this helps others as they get into this library!
