It does and will. Check out the frequently asked questions here: Cantai FAQ
For example:
“What is Cantai?”
“Cantai is an intelligent operatic and choral singing synthesizer that transforms written music into lifelike performances.”
“Are there different choir types available?”
“Yes, there will be several choir types, including traditional church or classical choirs, opera choruses, chamber ensembles, children’s choirs, African choirs, and others.”
Is it possible that the Discord is not available in some countries? I’m in the Netherlands and this message shows up when I click the Discord link (saying something like 'you’re in a weird place. You don’t have access to this channel or there is none)
Absolutely available in the beautiful Netherlands. You probably need an “invitation” from the admin (Richard deCosta, father of Cantai) of the Discord Server. It is here:Join Cantai (Turing Opera Workshop) Discord Server
firstly the invitation seems to have expired but secondly you seem to need to be a member of Discord. Although in theory it’s possible to join via a PC, it is really designed (like most things these days) around the phone and requires a a phone number to join. in the end I gave up after endless problems with over-fussy verification. Perhaps I was just unlucky.
by anything, I really meant social media which is designed for phone, not computer use. I can’t think of single forum website I use which requires a phone number to join. And unless I can find a really good reason, I’m not going to try and use it on the PC having deleted it from my phone.
Maybe not your game, but on my Windows PCs, I am using the Discord Web site. Works perfectly and nothing to download and install. You still need to join, but you can use your email or phone and a password to log in. Initially, when creating an account, a phone number is probably also needed for verifying. Because of Cantai, I really like it. Web version is here : Discord Web
as you can see from the above, a phone number is required for verification. I had no end of problems with this site including a ludicrously complex captcha series when first setting things up. Perhaps not everyone has had such issues but I’'m not going back to this.
I am very happy with Cantai Discord on my PCs, phones and tablets. The discussions about Cantai (for Dorico and other scoring programmes, and in general) are very interesting and informative.
I see exactly what you are saying and meaning, though. Pity.
Sadly, I got an email today that Cantai development is “on hold” unless we send more money.
I can’t afford that, so, here’s hoping that there are actual investors and that Cantai isn’t vaporware.
I hope so. He might have more luck raising funds if he allows people to buy one of the monthly plans at this time. $20 is much more palatable than $225 in this economy.
