CB 14 Pro And Behringer XTouch

Hi All,
I have been using XTouch Controller successfully with CB 9.5 Pro to 13 Pro.
When I use 14 Pro, it receives midi info from the controller but doesn’t seem to send it so I don’t get the counter readout, fader updates etc. I can move the faders on the controller and CB will respond but if I move the CB faders, the controller won’t respond.
The settings seem to be identical to what’s in the previous versions of CB with the exception that CB 14 won’t give me the XTouch option in the midi out drop down selections. Any thoughts on this?
Thanks!

Hi,

Are you on Mac or Windows? What kind of integration to Cubase do you use with the XTouch? Do you use Mackie Control or MIDI Remote?

Double-check the Studio > Studio Setup > MIDI Ports Setup, please. For which devices do you use the Behringer XTouch (or ‘All MIDI Inputs’) as the MIDI Input? Remote Device, MIDI Remote, Quick Controls…?

Hi Martin, been a while! Thanks for posting.
I am on Windows 10 Pro and using the Mackie protocol. I believe it is set on ‘All MIDI Inputs’. I’ll have to check the latter when I’m back on that computer. I use the XTouch mostly when I’m recording my vocals so it’s used for transport, markers, automation and controlling volumes.

Hi,

If you are using Mackie Control, set its Input to the dedicated MIDI Port (XTouch), please. And ensure, this MIDI Port is disabled from the ‘All MIDI Inputs’ in the MIDI Ports Setup window, please.

Ok, I found the problem!
In the Mackie Control, I thought “Not Connected” and “Windows MIDI” were my only MIDI output choices but there were multiple choices if you hovered over “Windows MIDI”. I didn’t see those before but XTouch is one of those choices and it’s all set now.
Thanks for hanging with me!
