Changing a clip without changing its copy

New here - would be great if someone could help!

Just upgraded from Cubase (Pro) 12 to 14 and am having the following issue:

In Cubase 14 when I make a copy of an audio clip and then make changes to the copies (I might change the gain of clip or transpose it, for example), those changes automatically get applied to the original clip. This is rarely what I want, though! In Cubase 12, whenever I would make changes, a dialog box would pop up and ask me if I wanted to create a new clip or if it should be applied to everything. Is there a way to get that dialog box back? It’s slowing down my workflow a lot.

Thank you in advance!

Welcome @letter!

I think preference: Audio - On Processing Shared Clips is the one you want.

Thank you SO much, that solved it!

Any time!

It goes without saying that this will not “fix” tracks already duplicated in the project with the previous setting.
