changing triplet notation to swing notation

I have imported a midi file from cubase with a swing feel. How can I change all the triplets to swing eights notes?

Not sure there is any way to change the quarter-eighth triplets automatically to even eighths to be swung other than making each change manually.

I figured out that the quantise function in edit menu is doing a fairly good job… I select the triplets I want to change to eighths notes and disable the triplet checkbox…

Good idea!

For some reason it doesn’t work for me, and it comes with very unpredictable results:

It’s as if it’s ignoring my settings:

Any idea?

Edit: Apparently I need “Fill gaps” to be selected, but it’s still somewhat unpredictable:

Not sure why are there tuples and 16th notes even though I unchecked tuples.

What happens if you click „delete tuplets“?

Just what you expect - same music without tuplet, but the bug still reproduces. I played around with it a little bit and I noticed the bug doesn’t reproduce if I remove the lyrics.

I attached a minimal reproduction. I’ve created a separate bug report as this doesn’t seem related: Bug: requantize doesn't work with lyrics

quantize with lyrics bug.dorico (575.4 KB)

Understand…
The way I do is to import the music with triplets. Then I select the parts I want to have notated as eight notes. Then I quantize the selected music without triplets. That solves round about 90%.
The rest I do manually.
Hope that helps :+1:t2:
