But, now, if I change the number for the HF-Adjust from 2.0 to something else, like 2.1, the problem goes away and the graph reflects the change with a high end lift.
I tried multiple times to recreate, re-save, and reload presets in Magneto on the channel strip, on different channels, and it was always the same result with the HF-Adjust setting recalling incorrectly.
NOTE: I did not test this extensively regarding other controls in Magneto or with other channel strip plugins.
Cubase 14.0.10.
Mac OSX Sonoma 14.7.1
Macbook Pro M3
Reproduction:
run some audio through a channel.
load magneto in the channel strip and crank the HF-Adjust as high as it will go.
if you don’t really hear much of a change, set the other magneto controls differently, then re-check to make sure the HF-Adjust is clearly doing something audible.
Save this as a strip preset.
unload magneto, reload it, then load your saved preset.
Do you hear the same sound you heard before?
If you can’t tell, simply change the HF-Adjust number down by 0.1 and see if you notice a drastic change in sound.
if you do hear a drastic change in sound, you have confirmed the bug.
I cannot confirm. I have even created a copy of the track after step 3, so that I can switch between the two different versions easily.
I hear no difference.
Also a null test between two tracks reveals no difference.
Cannot confirm, either. Recalling the strip preset created bring the same sound as when I saved it. Overall, same conclusion as Johnny Moneto : the preset is recalled as expected.
Windows 11, Cubase 14.0.10. And in another project I actually could not reproduce it.
The difference was that my first project was a Cubase 12 project (my general bug check/technical test project). even if I re-saved that, the effect was there (HF setting doesn’t seem to get applied when loading strip preset, only after moving the control a bit. Tested with pink noise for clear audbility)
In a project newly created with C14, everything seems to work fine. Also tried an old v10 project - doesn’t load correctly.
Weird one…
That’s a lot of good info. Thanks for doing that. So it’s not specific to Mac or PC, but may have something to do with old projects as I was also working in my template which I’ve carried forward from older versions of Cubase.
You can open a support ticket at steinberg.net, describe the issue and best also link to this thread. Don’t expect any answer for a long time, though, and I wouldn’t hold my breath either for this issue being fixed soon…
Hello - just an idea on this… could be project/template specific…?
Anyway, perhaps post a ‘dummy’ (small) project built from the older template that shows the issue.? Others here (including any lurking SB staff.!) could then grab it and try on their systems in C14, to confirm/deny/investigate further.?
