Chord Names Disappear when Copy/Pasting Events SOLVED

I recently upgraded from Cubase 9 to 14 and I’m still getting used to a lot of the changes and new features since it was a big jump in versions.

I use the chords pads a lot and like to just drag and drop a chord progression into the events. In 8, if I copied and pasted a section it looked the same as the section I copied. In 14 however, whenever I copy and paste a section of chords, the pasted section loses the chord names and is instead just replaced with the name of the virtual instrument or just “chord”.

I’m hoping this is just a simple issue and I just haven’t found the right place to change the settings. I’ve looked everywhere I know where to look and so far no luck. Any advice appreciated.

Hi,

I think it takes the track’s name. I’m away from Cubase at this moment, but I believe, there is related preferences (not about Copy & Paste, but rather generic about the naming).

That did it! Thank you! Unfortunately updating the setting did not convert the parts I already copied back to the chord names, but it is doing what I want it to do going forward, so I’ll count it as a win.

I appreciate the help!
