Morning - It mostly made it :-). Note this is a direct transfer, no C13 formatting applied
Now the lyrics appear in C13, but they did not in C15
Note overlap didn’t but I didn’t check “no overlap” in 13
Stave spacing is too close
I used slash note heads in 4 measures, and that did not make it over
The Title Font changed, but the Chord font stayed.
All repeats, double bars, 1st and 2nd endings, etc. stayed
The staff size did not make it - it reverted back to 100%. I had the C15 enlarged for easier reading..
Some text notes (Repeat for ending only) etc. did not make it
Rehearsal letters didn’t make it
I have not tried to correct the chart in C13, but it looks like all the version transfer errors can be fixed pretty easily. After the coffee soaks in, I’ll create a new version, then edit that.
After openign in C13, I closed 13 and opened the chart in 15 with no problem, but again, this is with no edits. I doubt there would be a problem, because I have several charts - lead sheets - I made in 13, that open in 15 with no issues..
We do hope to improve some of the areas of missing functionality, such as chord symbols. As Michael points out, we do have the ability inside the scoring code to support a wide variety of styles (most of the styles in common use), but it’s a lot of work to make these available in the score editor. We know that chord symbols are very important to many of our users.
I do think it’s helpful to point out some of the options available in Dorico, on this and other threads, because if a user needs something today then this can give a quick alternate way of achieving their goals (export Dorico file, open in Dorico, change setting, print). Some things may be possible in the free Dorico SE.
