Here’s the input:

And here’s the result:

In the same score (the chords should be the same in both measures):

The root of chord symbols with altered bass notes is automatically hidden when (if my memory is correct) they come after a previous chord symbol with the same root.

You can change this if you always want to show the root in all circumstances in Library > Engraving Options > Chord Symbols.

Edit: Amazing, exactly the same question asked just a few minutes before yours:

Hi there - related problem with chords w/altered bass. Now the chord symbol lacks the separator line:

Thanks!

It may well be that the font you’re using doesn’t have the required separator. What font are you using? If I choose e.g. Finale Jazz as the font for the Chord Symbols Font font style, the slash does appear.

Thank you, Daniel!

Sorry - I can’t find the page where you can create a new topic.

Please send link.

Never mind. Found it!

I’ve got Finale Jazz chosen,

but the separating line still does not appear.

Also … that doesn’t look like the Finale font, does it?

I don’t think Finale Jazz is the right font to choose! I think you need to choose Finale Jazz Text.
