Good day community members. I use Dorico 5 on 2 Mac iOS computers. On system “A” all is fine, on system “B” when I open my project I get odd characters as shown below. It seems that there are missing fonts. Any ideas on how to correct this? Is it even worth the effort or should I just select another font and move on? I am just curious. Thanks for any input here. Below is what I am seeing when I select Jazz Chord for Chord Symbols Music Text Font.
Dorico requires a SMuFL font for this, and Jazz Cord is not a SMuFL font. Actually, none of the MakeMusic fonts are fully compatible with Dorico, but Finale Jazz is reasonably close for chord symbols provided you set your Engraving Options / Chord Symbols / Design / Scale Factor settings to 76% or higher. (It doesn’t contain the smaller accidentals in the correct location that Dorico requires for 75% or lower.)
Thank you, Fred. Is there a SMuFL font that you can recommend that would avoid me having to deal with this?
Regards,

Petaluma is the “hand copied” font that ships with Dorico so it’s SMuFL-compatible. For a bit of an additional expense, Norfonts makes quite a few different fonts that are all compatible as well, and can give you some different looks.
Great - I appreciate the suggestion for Norfonts!
Ciao!
