Chord Track limitations and bugs

Chord Track is a great tools. Therefore I use a lot and found annoying limitations. Please consider following fixes/upgrades.

  1. Missing an option to be able to apply chords from the chord track only to certain part of the track i.e. selected part/locators.
    Currently, the whole track is always affected.

  2. Chord Track and Chord Track are missing chords with only two notes (3rds and 5ths). Not even that are not detected, but they are not able to be added in any way for user to play them back. Despite they are not chords technically, they are useful in music.

  3. It is not possible to change one particular chord voicing. Now it is whether all Manual or all Automatic Voicing for the whole chord track.

  4. Pitch and type of chord played by Chord track is hard to set is hard to guess - behaves just unexpected and strange
    It would be helpful, if user has piano roll within Chord track menu or linked to MIDI editor to see what will be produced by chord track.
    Examples:
    a) Chord Track, Voicings: Bacis, Note offset from C3 set: 0, Root vocing gives: C2, E2, G2. Why C2, when C3 is offset note?
    b) Voicing: Piano: Triad, Root position gives correctly C3, E3, G3. But when
    Voicing: Piano: Triad + Fatten Up is added, then chord voicing changes to G2 C3, E3, C4 (2nd Inversion). Why does it changes from root to 2nd?
    c) Add C chord to Chord Track, click it and change it to min, 7 etc. chord changes root and voicing. Why is that? (it is confusing)

Solution:

  • Remove these “bugs”.
  • Potentially add small piano board to display what notes will be played for the tonic chord of the current scale.
