Chord Track needs a ton of work to put it mildly

Oh man…….the Chord Track in VST Live, nowhere near the functionality of Cubase by far…. Imagine exporting a chord track from Cubase only to find that in VST Live you simply CANNOT move ANY of the Chords left or right, cannot delete Chords in the TRACKS view, cannot edit Chords in the track view, etc…. the implementation of the Chord Track in VST Live vs Cubase is like comparing a horse and carriage to a Ferrari. It’s almost completely un-editable in any user friendly way. Okay, let’s say that sure, you can use the CHORDS view to edit the chords….fine….and if you need to move all the Chords one bar to the left? You, my friend, are S.O.L. Why in the world did the programmers just not copy what was in Cubase? I’ll say this again like I said in my other post… make a stripped down version of Cubase with the essentials as in VST Live (but with the functionality of Cubase) and add the Songs feature in there and you’ll have yourself a winner.

Simply put, The Chord Track in VST Live needs to have at a minimum the same functionality as the Chord Track in Cubase, then it will be where it needs to be.

100% supported. I am currently using Band-In-A Box’s VST Plugin to host chords, though with some annoying clitches. However, I cannot migrate the chords to VSL’ s Chord functionality, simply because this functionality lacks the very basic things you have highlighted - ability to deal with a range of chords for copying, pasting, etc.

Can’t CTRL+C or +V. Can’t drag. Can’t even delete with the Del or Backspace buttons. Click anywhere and it adds a C. Copy a Bb and when I paste it, it turns into an A#. Constantly clicking the Flat button.

It takes 6-8 clicks just to input a single chord. It’s crazy considering how much better the Lyric window is with dragging and pasting.

We’ve improved the “Lyrics-Track-Editing” in TRACKS over the past weeks and months, and we’ll be doing the same for the Chords track soon — step by step.

For now, please use the CHORDS Viewer to edit chord events.

See you,
Michael
