Cleaning up Mac - VST Sound folder

had some odd stuff happen today while removing Factory Libs , one I done use .

I seem to have lost 3 (.vstsound) files from the Library/Steinberg/Content/HALion/VST Sound.
Screen shots below from Cubase which cant find the files when I boot up . Just not sure why these have gone missing , also I have Time Machine set up but when I look back none of these 3 files are there on Time Machine back ups . very odd

Hi,

Do a search for those missing names. When you find them, double click on them. This will register them in the sound library.

Hope this helps!

I wonder if I can add a question to this topic. I think it falls within “cleaning up Mac”

With the later versions of Download Assistant, I find that *.vstsound files/sets can sometimes duplicate themselves during install. What actually happens is that the files are sometimes put in a subfolder (i.e. > Cubase Content > Zero Gravity) and sometimes they are dropped directly into the Cubase Content folder without a sub-folder.

My question is: How do I verify which is the fastest version and delete the appropriate duplicate? I’m guessing these “sets” sometimes get updated with improved samples and files. I’m able to check which is the registered version, but in some cases it’s an older version.

Does that make sense?

Thanks,

Bob
