So far the only CMC I can’t use in C15 are the FD.
They are detected but cannot be added in the
Remote Devices (legacy).
I’m on C15 demo and maybe it’s a sw glitch?

Hi,
did you download the latest drivers? Please make sure to update the firmware first. You’ll find both here:
In case it’s still not working afterwards (I think it will) - which OS are you on?
Yea. Already had them updated
Win10. C15
ty….
They should appear here (Studio/Studio Setup/ Remote Devices legacy) without being manually added, in other words plug n play. Did you try to restart and use a different USB port? Other CMCs are listed here?
Any solution to that? Indeed, CMC FD are not working, they can’t be added as legacy devices using “+” either, and the drivers are 10 yo already. Win 11
TY for confirming. ![]()
My pleasure, hope this will get sorted asap since there are no problems in C14.
Same here.
CMC-FD not only doesn’t work in Cubase 15, it doesn’t appear on Legacy Devices, as my other CMC units does.
It works in Cubase 14, but not in 15.
Please someone add this issue to the list of urgent fix to solve in the next maintenance update.
I think it’s over, and the phase out will continue. I’ve never see steinaha bring back a legacy item once it’s removed/unsupported. No one does for that matter.
The ebay flood will make em useless so gotta figure out a way to reuse these.
Sad days ahead.
I wouldn’t be so sure about that. I think they take pride in supporting their hardware for a really long time.
Here’s an example: CMC PD didn’t work in Cubase 15.0.5 Win 10/11. But it has been fixed and now works again in Cubase 15.06 . Let’s put it that way - there’s hope ![]()
indeed!
All good now with the latest update.
Good to hear! ![]()
I seem to have lost the whole lot of CMC’s. Where do I find the latest midi-drivers? I am on Cubase & Nuendo 15.0.21.
I reinstalled Nuendo 14 and didn’t got it to work there either, where I previously had.
You’ll find a link to the latest drivers & firmware updates in the second post above.
Windows 11 Pro. The little CMC menu in both Cubase and Nuendo are there sometimes. I think it has to do with Microsoft doing the Midi 2.0 things. What drivers are we talking about? Steinberg for CMC, or Yahamaha or Microsoft? Autoupdate is on for the OS. Mayby I have a bad contact for the USB…?
So far, there have been no reports that the CMC series has been affected by the Windows update. At least not to my knowledge.
Sorry, the link above doesn’t seem to work anymore. Try this one instead, please:
This drivers and firmware update include all CMC products.
First, update your firmware (arrow below) and afterwards reinstall the drivers (arrow at the top):
Does this work for you?
That’s always a possibility.
Hopefully, reinstalling these drivers and updating the firmware does the trick.
I had the latest firmware and tools installed allready.
My 4xFD are not working anymore. The CMC-AI, TP, CH, PD, QC all work. BUT only one at a time, so I have to pick one. For now, my CMC-TP har the honours. I am quite certain this has to do with the changes from MicroSoft for Windows 11.
I agree. It’s the MIDI2 changes.
I have CH, AI and TP, and only one works, currently CH.
For now I have uninstalled the Yamaha USB drivers for these, so they obviously now don’t work at all and just sit in my Device Manager as unknown Other Devices. I will leave them in this state for now, hoping to see them jump back into life when the relevant updates are completed by the MIDI2 devs. Leaving the old drivers installed will probably only cause more problems and system/cubase instability and you will have no idea when they sort them out. By leaving the old drivers uninstalled there is a good chance that one week/month soon I will just see them light up and work properly again once the devs have completed the necessary work.
The dev Discord is here:
I have seen comments by them on their Discord stating that they are actively working on tracing all the hardware which is not working or not working properly with the aim of sorting as many as possible out as soon as possible. I think they release MIDI2 updates approximately monthly.

I wrote much more about this here:
