is there a way to colorize the tracks in the mixer as within the project window?
By colorizing I mean the entire channel strip and not only the small area around the name.

No, there is no way to do this, but I also really wish there was. So many times, I wish the Sub Group strip stood out more.
If it was a user definable option, then it would up to the user how to use it.
The drab grey look without colour, seems to be the trendy thing at the moment.
So yes, Steinberg - please give us some colour options for the mixer.
What I do is color my faders sub mixes and groups (buses) red,my efx faders purple and the rest gray. Much easier to read the mixer like that
