Since it will follow the Dorico way, I think it’s more you just drive, the streets and neighborhoods you take are converted into a key, mood, chord changes, structure. Articulations and dynamics from the way you brake, accelerate, change lanes…. “but officer, I was only writing a bit of Wagner”
The Tik-Tok plug-in was assumed. But, Dorico being a scoring notation program for all levels of professional work, I was thinking of Modern Dance/Ballet. I’m glad you set me straight.
My long hoped for plugin of espresso/cappucino maker is still on my wish list, though. It never hurts to ask…
tiktok is now illegal in the U.S. so therefore a tiktok plugin would be a poor feature choice.
It could also be even better Play automations therefore the music expressionistically ‘moves’. So that is my guess?
mmhh May 24… the answer to the universe and everything is 42… coincidence? I don’t think so. A universal version of Dorico will be unveiled that is also compatible with Amazon’s Echos
I think the upcoming product can compose and score music by itself. We get everything after a sleep. It must be so.
Yes! indeed
“Alexa, write me a sonata.”
As someone who loves to first write using Dorico, and then refine in my DAW (and later add recorded audio tracks, synths & guitars etc), I would love to see this kind of easy roundtrip intergration. Right-click a flow and send to Cubase/Logic/PT/etc daw of choice. Perhaps less likely with other DAWs but with Cubase, it would be cool if there could be a sync between them if you had both open, somehow. So you could pull up several midi regions in Cubase, go over to Dorico to write/rewrite further, and then back to Cubase, all while keeping you in the creative zone so you’re not having to fuss with exports.
Not a bad call…
I think they’re just changing the default so that playback is always molto espressivo.
I’m still not ready for April… ![]()

Labanotation?
A Taylor Swift plugin?
As Daniel Spreadbury mentioned a few years ago, it is the aim to release new versions of Dorico before the summer. So it could be indeed Dorico 5 on Wednesday.
With all the updates to Dorico 4, it doesn’t feel like (nearly) 497 days since Dorico 4 has been released.
Easy to see patterns where they don’t exist, but on the “Music that Moves” idea, notice the teaser is oddly in a portrait phone format? Based on those two factoids that might indicate a port to the iPhone.
Which at first doesn’t seem to make sense, but then the iPad port didn’t make sense to me initially either. What could be done on the iPhone? Going further a piano is playing, maybe the idea is an accompaniment to your piano, being either a small screen music reader, and also maybe a music capture device?
OK how about you’re at the piano improvising away with Dorico live recording you via the mic and transcribing to score … create music that moves, literally moves with you away from the piano (on your phone) and is also ‘moving’ emotionally double meaning.
Not sure I believe it but just following a (easily faulty) chain of reasoning from the teaser but I’ll run with it, my guess
Port to an iPhone with music transcription from live audio
Yeah that seems like further support for the idea of an iPhone port with live audio transription, you again see the iPhone portrait aspect ratio, solo piano, but now we have an easy on the eyes young woman with music painted on her
This looks just like the photo shoot, they used a projector and a light box. Not sure what that indicates other than the ‘moving’ idea
