Command for muting/unmuting a channel's direct output #1, #2, ... etc.?

Your request is what exactly?
I still don’t get it.

The mixer has no mute functionality on direct routing. This is not needed at all. There can’t be a command for a function that is not there or not needed.

PLE needs to have mute/unmute operation on specific aux send or direct output (or what the f+ck you wanna call those blue buttons in the DIRECT section of the mixer)

In case you are still scratching your head this would allow multiple mute/unmute simultaneously via keyboard shortcut or midi assigned remote control. Does it make sense?

I understand what you’re asking for, but could you give a hypothetical and specific example of when you would use this?

Any situation where you’ve ever felt the desire to send more than one track to the same aux fx, or outboard processor, or summing mixer, etc.

For example, in a summing situation, maybe I want to process drum tracks through my summing mixer, then wouldn’t it be nice to use a PLE on drum tracks that mutes their output 1, and unmutes their output 2, with the click of a button. At the same time I can set all other tracks to temporarily go straight through stereo out in the box so that they are not processed along with the drums.

In the case of sends, the Cubase global bypass option only gives you the ability to turn ALL sends on or off. This is not always desired.

I do that all the time in Nuendo, for post.

Yeah I suppose I can see the utility in that. I’m assuming btw that you’re sending the drumkit not just to a stereo output, but to multiple outputs that get summed in analog. If it’s ‘only’ 1 destination for all individual drum tracks then I’d just have outputs 1 and 2 open at the same time on the drum tracks and simply mute the different outputs instead.

Actually, if you do it that way you can probably just set up using PLE instead. Create your template(s) so that your summing outputs or group tracks have a specific name each (i.e. for the first and second outputs for all drum tracks) and then create a PLE that toggles mute. As long as the starting ‘condition’ is that one set is muted and the other is on your one-key PLE should toggle between the two. Know what I mean?

Sure, I can see that too. I’ve never had that need though because of the way I work. Typically I either just solo tracks and the sends follow those solos which is what I want, or I turn the FX return track(s) off to hear without the effect.

yes makes sense for use of 2 outputs with one muted the other not (PLE to toggle output mutes)

I’m sorry, but you need to be precise on the problem, otherwise we would talk about different things.
I do it all the time to explain people technical things and learned the hard way to be precise with the name of things. It generates issues if you’re not exact in such moments.

The direct routing needs to be present in the PLE.
That is your request, not more, but of course not less.
Right?
