con Ped. ad lib.

Hi folks,

I’d like to add the simple instruction “con Ped. ad lib.”, but with the Ped. replaced with the symbol as pretty standard I think.

There doesn’t seem to be a way of doing this - I’m aware that you can change the Glyph to text in the properties, and then retype the whole thing, but it doesn’t look half as good as having the symbol. Am I missing something? Could it be implemented please?

Many thanks
Edd

You should be able to add this using a Shift+X text item: write “con” into the text item as usual, then copy and paste the ‘Ped.’ symbol from here, setting the character style to ‘Music text’ using the menu in the top right-hand corner of the editor popover, then write “ad lib.” as usual to finish the text item.

many thanks Dan, I managed it this way. It is a little clunky though - it would be good if there was a “prefix” and “suffix” box to type this into on the prefs pane perhaps.

All the best
Edd
