Dorico does not condense as I want it. It does group the horns as I assigned, but it does not condense parts that should be condensed. All the brass, even the ww only condense as long as there are no notes in the staff. As soon as there are notes Dorico writes two staves, even if the notes are the same. I have no clue what´s going on here, since I do not see any irregularities, except for some different pitches. But, as far as I understand it, that should condense just fine, as well!
Can you attach the project, as requested? Do Save As to make a copy, cut it down to just the affected section, apply the Silence playback template, then attach it here with details of where the problem occurs. A reminder:
That would be great. I went through all that trouble before, and I am a bit annoyed to bring this up, again. At first I thought that something with the dynamics was not perfectly aligned, as this had been the problem and solution before, but then copied and pasted all the dynamics, and I do not see any error, and after doing that, nothing changed, anyway, so I really am at a loss here. Thanks for looking at it!!! Dropbox - Ulf_Muller_TSE27_summative_Lion´s Share Kopie.dorico - Simplify your life
Was this project created from an import of some kind?
I found if I created a new Full Score layout (or even just reset your current Full Score to Factory settings), recreated any custom condensing groups, and deleted the staff-specific C Major key signatures (shoutout to @Derrek), then it condenses as it should.
PS
You should download the free upgrade to 4.3
You don’t need to manually enter in the instrument numbers for the French Horns. If you want to undo this, before you do, drag the Horn 3 player back between the 2nd/4th, and then rename all the horns with the same name a la Clarinets.
Thank you @DanielMuzMurray !!! Deleting the C Mayor key signatures did the job!!! When I reset to factory settings, though, I had a nicely scrambled score, everything blurred into each other, and my heart stood still for a sec. Fortunately I already know how to use command Z
