I just condensed the saxes, trpts, and bones in a big band score so, for example, trpts 1 & 2 are on the same staff. It looks good except the cresc etc are now doubled with the crescendo marking and parenthesize with cresc. Here is screenshot from the score
is there a global setting to get rid of the parenthesized markings. I can hide them in each part but not the condensed score. And a way to get rid of duplicate articulations.
And that’s because you actually have two of those markings attached to the first trombone. You can see this if you go to Galley view in Write mode, turn on signposts, and then unhide those markings.
If I delete one of those, I get this in the condensed score (Page view):
The visibility of some things needs to be set separately in uncondensed and condensed views. I think this is by design, because you may actually want different visibility in those contexts.
I don’t see duplicate articulations here – there are two sets of accents in the first trumpet staff because the notes are written with different stems, and each stem gets an accent. You could change this by adding a condensing change there to put the notes on single stems:
You probably want a reset condensing change in the next bar, so that you get the staggered entrances, and then maybe another change back to single stems when both trumpets are playing again.
I am pretty sure now this is an Atomic Horns issue. All of the dynamics etc in parentheses are Atomic Horn hidden techniques. I can delete these but I assume Atomic Horns will not play their techniques. These are in the Doricos playing techniques. I hide these. Here is uncondensed with the Atomic Horn techniques, and they are hidden.
No, I think this is just how playing techniques work with condensed layouts. Here are two trumpet staves with a hidden (factory) mute playing technique.
@asherber is right: when you hide a playing technique in an uncondensed staff you have to hide it again in the condensed staff (in Engrave mode). It is by design as Daniel explains below.
