Condensing of flutes stops mid-score, then begins again

I have an orchestral score that is all one Flow. The flutes condense perfectly, even in difficult and crossing passages, but then there are three pages mid-score where the condensing stops when there are simply whole notes in the score. Then, on a section where the flutes play the same intervals (not scored as a repeat), the condensing begins again. How can I make these measures condense correctly?

I found this note on a Dorico-related page: Currently, the condensing groups defined in Layout Options are fixed for the whole layout and cannot be modified on a per- or mid-flow basis. Finer control is promised in the near future.

But my Dorico 5 seems to have uncondensed some measures of ONLY the flutes on its own for some reason.

You’ll need to attach that portion of your project, please.

I can’t because I am unable to get my new Dorico Download to open. I have been three nights and about five hours trying to figure out how to get all of the downloads and software correct in order to open Dorico 5 Pro. It says that my code is active and shows that I have Dorico on my computer, but it won’t open. And the activation manager says that I have no licenses. But I can send you a screen shot.

Sure, give it a try.

I skipped page 7, and they uploaded out of order, but page five shows one staff for flues 1 & 2, but then it randomly separated them into two staves until page 8. Not sure why it did this. Then it went back again to singe staff.

It’s probably due to the pitch crossing, i.e. Flute 2 plays higher than Flute 1.

Check/adjust Notation Options > Condensing > Pitch crossing approach (I think that’s the menu)

Yes, thank you. It was simply weird that when the flutes didn’t play at all, the staves were still separate until the next page.
