I’m trying to set up a home recording studio but for some reason my microphone isn’t working properly as no sound comes from it. The interface recognises it, as the Peak light turns on, and it could be that I’m doing something wrong configuration wise, as this is my first attempt ever. Any input would be greatly appreciated. I’m using Windows 8 if that’s any help. Thanks in advance 
It would be nice to know which software are you using to record. Without this knowledge it’s impossible to give detailed instructions.
Anyway, 2 most probable problems are:
- Your software is not configured to use C1 as an audio interface
- Your software is not configured to record from the C1 input into which you have connected the SM57
