Connecting YAMAHA PSR-300M as a MIDI Device onto CUBASE 14

Hello Community,
I am completely new to this world, but haven’t found any topics that could help on this forum or anywhere online for the past week.

I am trying to connect my Yamaha PSR-300M through MIO iconnect onto my laptop. I have Input and Output cables connected onto the keyboard in their respective ports and the usb connected onto the laptop which uses Windows 10.
I have just downloaded Cubase 14, when I make this connection, in the Studio Setup I am able to see MIO output and input, however no signal is being picked up by the keyboard, no blue leveler appears on the right corner when I press the keys.

Can I have some help figuring out how to get this set up?

Please forgive me if you’ve already checked this, but it is a very common error when first getting MIDI connections set properly.

I’ve checked the user manual for the MIO. Please ensure that your PSR’s MIDI Out port is connected to the MIO’s In port, and your PSR’s IN port is connected to the MIO’s Out port.

Here’s the image from the manual that details this:

Thank you for this. I have tried this option but I still do not get any signal of the keyboard being read.
Any thing else comes into mind?
