I am creating a kick drum sound using three kicks that I’m carefully equalizing and positioning next to each other. When I play the result on repeat Cubasis is consistently crashing. This is with only three sounds in solo mode. I notice tweaking the latency appears to exacerbate this. Here’s a link demonstrating the behavior, the attachment size limit in this forum is only 4mb. It gets more extreme towards the end of the video with crashes happening after playing for barely a second.
I’m using an 11in M4 iPad Pro on iPadOS 18.3.1. I have attached the project file. Sound workshop.zip (275.6 KB)
I’d like to add that I tried closing all other apps and restarting the iPad. After restarting I launched this project file, I tried to play it once, and it crashed.
Moving the other muted audio files to a later point on the same timeline has seemed to make this better. The other thing I’m noticing is that if I position the sounds close to the beginning of the loop area I get timing issues and crackling, but if I position them in the middle of the loop area away from the start, the playback is more consistent.
Please note how inconsistent the sound timing is in the screen recording. This makes it very difficult to sculpt sounds and line up waveforms with any sense of accuracy.
I hate to compare but I would like to note how reliable and snappy Fl Studio Mobile’s audio engine appears to be in comparison. Not only does the track looping allow you to make the loop insanely small but every single change in position or automation to an audio track plays accurately.
