Consolidate Midi Clip

Key command to glue together a midi clip and erase all the information outside of it. Or “Join”. I know you can create a macro to invert and delete but isn’t this super complicated for a function that is included in every other DAW?

Did figure out how to do this?

When I’m arranging music most of the times I’ll shorten the midi clip if I need to use only a certain part of ot instead of using the :scissors: tool. That functionality comes naturally to me as I’ve used Logic Pro, Studio One and Ableton for a few years. In cubase however, the excess midi and Controller data from the shortened clip is still visible and it just creates a mess.

There’s an option called freeze midi modifiers which solves most of this issue however it will not remove any sustained midi notes and Controller data that continue beyond the clip boundary. This is such a basic function but Steinberg hasn’t looked into this at all. I hope they fix it in Cubase 14 or 13.5
