Hello, I’m hoping somebody would be able to help me with this as I haven’t been able to find a solution online.
I’m trying to set up control room so I can listen between Mix and Cue, however, I seem to be having issues adding an audio device to Cue 1. I’m using ASIO4ALL v4 as my audio device in cubase. As you can see in the picture, I have ASIO4ALL selected as monitor 1. Cubase isn’t letting me select it for Cue 1 though. Is there a reason for this? I see multiple videos with their monitor and cue 1 working fine but they’re using hardware audio interfaces whereas I’m using ASIO4ALL. Is this a problem with ASIO4ALL? If not, would anyone be able to help me set up control room properly with ASIO4ALL? I’d really appreciate the help.
Here’s an image for reference:
Sorry I’m unable to edit my post yet. I should mention that when I try to select ASIO4ALL as an audio device for Cue 1, nothing happens. It just doesn’t let me add it.
Also a typo I wanted to correct, I meant ASIO4ALL v2
Hi Johnny, thanks for the reply. It let’s me select ASIO4ALL now on Cue 1 but as soon as I select it, it removes it from Monitor. Is there any way to get them to both use ASIO4ALL together so I can listen between Main and Cue simply by switching in the Control Room panel?
In Control Room I see audio coming through the meter for Main but in Cue there’s no audio in the meter. I can however see audio coming through the tracks.
The meters in CR work whether the busses are connected to anything or not. So if Cue1 does not show anything then you haven’t properly routed any signal to Cue1.
Little extra tips:
A Go to your Cue Track in the project window and click on its Solo button while holding alt (option). Now the S is turning into a D (defeat solo). This way you’ll never accidently mute this track - you can only hear it if you choose the Cue in the Control Room so it doesn’t interfere with anything.
B You can add track versions (Inspector) to your Cue Track. This way you can switch between multiple references using only one single Cue.
