I found a couple of posts from ‘22 and ‘23 regarding this but no solutions or recommendations. If a rudiment is activated on a pad, can the result be converted to, or exported to, a MIDI/Instrument track such that it could be edited?
I don’t think there’s a direct “freeze to MIDI” option for rudiments. The usual workaround is to route the pad’s MIDI out to a regular MIDI/Instrument track and record it in real time, or use a virtual MIDI loopback. Some instruments also let you assign the rudiment to a pattern pad and then drag it into the project. That way you’ll have editable MIDI on a track instead of just playback from the pad.
I did try routing the output to a MIDI track and recording but that didn’t work (rather, it only recording the note that was on the source track). I’m not familiar with virtual MIDI loopback. Will look into it.
