So, long story short I lost everything but backups to scores and my copy of Dorico. I don’t have Sibleius anymore and want to open .sib files in Dorico, but can’t convert them to .xml without Sibelius. Is there any solution?

If you know (and trust!) someone with Sibelius, you could send them all your Sibelius files and ask them to convert for you. There’s a Sibelius plug-in called “Convert Folder of Scores to Musicxml” that makes the conversion process pretty quick.
No reason I know of why that won’t work.
Sibelius also has a subscription model where you can rent it for awhile.
you could always go to your Avid account and download Sibelius from there.
