As I experiment with more and more sound libraries, I find that there are as many different output levels as there are libraries. Even within libraries, the output levels are not consistent (ie., moderately loud strings as a default and moderately soft brass as a default). I find myself playing with various Steinberg effects to achieve what I am interested in achieving be it volume, reverb, etc.
I am very far from being an expert in the use of these effects but one thing I find tedious:
- one must select the same effect for as many different voices as one wants to apply the effect, one setting at a time.
I find myself saying unkind things under my breath about not having the ability to copy one effect in one instrument and paste it into another instrument that, in my estimation, could benefit from exactly the same effect. So, is there a reason we cannot copy and paste these sound effects among different instruments? Please advise.
And if we cannot, why would we not want that capability?
