I’m already making use of the new “Flow Heading Overrides” feature in Dorico 6. I’m using it to add underscored dialogue that starts before a song in a music. It is useful because it’s formatted text (can’t use project info) and it has different lengths. Here’s an example:
This is an improvement on the previous way I did it, which is using page overrides, since now if one flow is a bit longer / shorter it doesn’t mess with the positions of the page overrides, and also I can still share the basic “First” template (which includes the title and flow info), which is consistently the same between all music numbers (=flows); though it is possibly still pretty manual (separately create and name flow heading and having to bind them in separate modal)
This information is relevant for all layouts, but it appears like this particular feature is separate. I tried to use the library manager to copy these but I couldn’t find it there.
[TL;DR] Is there a way to share / copy these overrides between layouts? I can recreate them - pointing the same layouts, but this could be very tedious, especially if I have many musical number or many instruments (Imagine a small band of 5 pieces + full + vocals x in a short musical of about 10 numbers = define overrides 70 times)
Not strictly related but somehow related - if the product team is reading this and is looking for feedback - this feature is helpful but still partial for the theater use-case, where underscored dialogue could also appear in the middle of the flow, and right now there is no good way to handle it except page overrides, which are susceptible to this flowing issue I described.
